My Life, Fidel Castro with Ignacio Ramonet (£8.99) – For years people have tried to persuade the leader of the Cuban Revolution to tell his own story. In this stunning book – a series of probing interviews – Fidel Castro finally breaks his silence.

Describing his life from the 1930s all the way up to the present day, he discusses his parents, early influences, the beginnings of the revolution, his relationship with Che, the Bay of Pigs, the missile crisis and Cuban migration to the US. Ramonet challenges Castro to discuss his views on a number of controversial questions, from human rights and freedom of the press to the repression of homosexuality as well as his opinion of other leaders, alive and dead.
